atmsferik

ATMSFERIK is the alias for stefanie alice vandendriessche. Since 2000 she lives and works between Brussels and Barcelona, where she studied a Master in Digital Arts at the Pompue fabra University. In 2000 she founded with Marko Brajovic, Jordan Wynnychuk, Ignacio Platas and
Richard Porcher sustudio, wich was a software development company specialized in new applications for consumer virtual reality. Their activities were based on technical strategies and software solutions whos applications range from videogame development and Surround Audio applications to virtual extensions for architectural projects. They created 3d Worlds that encourage new modes of interaction between the users, the software and real space. The projects ,and2, sutools and POL are fruits of this collaboration. In 2002 she left with sustudio for 6 months to Costa Rica where they developped the
design for casa en el aire, a house made entirely from bamboo by balancing traditional assemblage techniques with state-of-the-art proprietary software for the conception and design. Back in Barcelona she cofounded with Marko Brajovic architect studio BRAJOVICVANDENDRIESSCHE, where they explored the relations between real and digital architecture; starting from visual instalations and performances up to fysical building structures. Their main concern is the dialectic nature - culture as a hybrid reality; that they express through technology, paesages, urban life and multisensorial ambients.
As atmsferik she developpes real time interactive 3D visuals, interactive sculpures and writes poetry.
