What is you project about ?
---------------------------
"Looking For Carbon", is a 3d / vrml based Multi-Users world in which every Avatars/Atoms are sounding (loop). You can intervene on global sound by locating you in this "DNA-cloud world" regarding to others, modify the pitch of your/other Avatars/Atom by rotating them. It includes a chat room where you can discuss the way of mixing generated sound.
You are also invited to feed LFC with your own samples.
How long have you been working in this area ?
Computers addicted for about 10 years now.
Were you an artist/ musician first who got into using computers/the net or did you respond to the net in an artistic way?
The Net is a great area for experimenting and sharing those experiments.
What/who has influenced you in your work? (themes, other artists etc)
Many, many, Just say I love Netochka ;-).
Are there any other artists covering the same field as you?
Think so... My purpose is always to create simple&light things, in order to grant for everybody, their access via the Net.
With regard to 'soundtoys' especially, why do you think the audio visual metaphor is so key to the net?
Sound is a material that directly drives you into "virtual" environments.
Could you come up with a definition of "soundtoys"
a kind of "Sound Shaft"
Does the net promotes visual awareness that is unique to it?
No.
How novel do you feel generative music is?
After "Music for Airports", kind of "Music for Computers"
Would you describe yourself as a multimedia artist, a net.artist, programmer, or none of the above?
Experimental guy experimenting.
What software do you use most?
Notepad
